Patrick Mahomes’ Grandpa ‘hanging on’ to see him playing in Super Bowl (exclusive)

Patrick Mahomes’ grandfather is looking forward to watching his grandson playing on the Super Bowl on Sunday.

While participating in the NFL Head Certificate in New Orleans on Thursday, February 6, Kansas City Chief’s Quarterback’s mother, Randi Mahomes, shared that her father – Patrick’s grandfather – is on a hospice as her son leads into her third equal championship game . Randi, 52, said her father “hangs on” to see another of Patrick’s successes as his team prepares to meet against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Randi has held Patrick, 29, informed of his grandfather’s health in the midst of the structure of the big game. She lyrics her son – she doesn’t want to “abound him,” she told people – here and there with updates about his grandfather, especially that “he sees and he is excited.”

She continued, “I mean, he must be such a proud grandfather, so proud. And my mother was very proud and his other grandparents (was too).”

Randi earlier opened about her father’s health in a post to her Instagram stories on January 24 and shared that he had gone into Hospice Care. In the update, she included a photo of herself and her father, referring to the Bible Schools 3:20, which reads “Children, obeys your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord.”

“My dad is at a hospice and I’m lost to words ote,” she wrote in the picture.

The message came after Randy’s hospital stay in September 2024 for a named reason. In one Post to xRandi asked for prayers for his father as he navigated in a health crisis.

Sunday, February 9, Chiefs Eagles will play under the Super Bowl Lix. This will be Patrick’s third equal championship – and his fifth gathered – after their victories in 2023 and 2024 over Eagles and San Francisco 49ers. The team also beat the 49s in 2020.
