Former Nole Josh Sweat went out Beast -mode first half of Super Bowl Lix against KC

The Super Bowl Lix has several former FSU players playing in the game, but one in particular got his presence felt in the first half. The Philadelphia Eagle Defensive End Josh Sweat went in Beast Mode with four tackles, 1.5 sacks and two quarterback hits.

His performance was part of a masterful shutout from the first half of the Philadelphia Eagles. They held the bosses to 23 gathered yards and forced Patrick Mahomes to throw two interceptions.

Kansas City got only one first down and was 0-6 on the third downs. Mahomes took three sacks, were hit seven times and had only 33 passing yards of six finishes.

Check out the reactions to Josh -Sved on social media during the break:

Josh Sweat is a former five-star recruiter that suffered a terrible leg injury in high school, but former FSU head coach Jimbo Fisher never gave up hope and continued to recruit him.

Sweat arrived at FSU as part of the recruitment class in 2015 and probably played too early out of the leg damage. However, his game got him draft in the fourth round of 2018 NFL Draft of Philadelphia Eagles.

He made Pro Bowl in 2021 and has been the definition of consistent since 2021. He has had 40+ tackles and at least 6.5+ sacks every season since that year.

Eagles’ defense took advantage of their defensive performance and took a 24-0 lead to the break. It’s the second largest half -time margin ever in a Super Bowl.

If the Eagles are holding the victory, it will be their first Super Bowl -victory since 2018 when Eagles defeated Tom Brady and New England Patriots. A win would avenge a former Super Bowl loss to Kansas City Chiefs in 2023.

I know that Mike Norvell did not coach Josh Sweat at FSU, but I would use these highlights as crazy on the recruitment paths along with Jared verses winning the NFL Defensive of the Year.
