3-day prognosis

Our weather forecast models show strong agreement on the overall trend for the coming week. The next three days will have sunny sky and gradually colder temperatures. On Thursday and Friday, a Pacific Weather System moves in and brings precipitation as it interacts with the retreating cold air.

This is the setup that creates the potential for widespread snow and/or freezing rain in the valleys west of the cascades, including the metro area. As a result, we designate Thursday and Friday as the first alarm day. Next weekend, the pattern changes to milder and wetter conditions.
