Hot days continuing into WM Phoenix open weekend in Arizona

Phoenix (Azfamily) – High pressure remains in control over the next several days, but is slowly beginning to weaken. Heights remain over normal throughout the weekend of the WM Phoenix Open.

Today’s heights reach about 81 degrees, which is 11 degrees above the average high temperature of 70 degrees. We do not expect to break any items today as the record is 87 degrees from 1963.

Expect high in the top 70s to about 80 from Friday to Sunday, with Valley Morning Lows in the 40s and 50s.

A few disturbances from the West are moving through the start next week. These systems look like they don’t bring precipitation early in the week, but they’ll drop our temperatures in the mid -70s Monday, the low 70s on Tuesday and potentially the top 60s by Wednesday, which would be below normal.

Looking at longer range, some moisture could move into our area by next Thursday and Friday, bringing a chance of rain. However, it is too early to get too excited as these showers are far from a warranty.
