1 death, several hospitalized after 2 jets go down to Scottsdale, Ariz. Airport Railway: Authorities

One person is dead and several are hospitalized after two aircraft collided on a runway at Scottsdale Airport in Arizona on Monday, February 10th. Several others were also injured.

At. 14.39 local time, a medium -sized business beam arriving at the airport, clashed with another business beam “parked on private property,” Kelli Kuester, aviation planning and outreach coordinator at Scottsdale Airport said in a statement shared with people.

The runway is closed “in the foreseeable future,” Kuester said.

Five people were involved in the incident, one of which was stated dead upon arrival, Scottsdale said four department spokesman Capt. Dave Folio in a news briefing published by Fox 10 Phoenix. Two people were transported to trauma centers and another was taken to a local hospital in stable state. The fifth person was still caught in one of the planes at the time of the press conference.

“We do everything we can to pick up and save the one soul that is still on board,” he added. “Our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone involved in this.”

Folio noted that the authorities arrived on stage just moments after the incident and requested additional alarms and Hazmat devices to evaluate the area and the surrounding buildings. The authorities “got a clear” of the nearby structures, Folio said.

Scottsdale Airport previously said via X that the incident happened on runway 21.
