Natchez -Natchez -Needborn David Norman will compete in the new Fox TV Reality series, “Extracted.”

The first episode will be released tonight, February 10, at. 19 on Fox Network.

Norman, 37, is 2006 candidate from Natchez High School and a 2011 candidate from Alcorn State University, where he got his degree in biology. For the past 11 years he has been a high school teacher in the Houston area.

The survival theme competition places 12 participants in all kinds of dangerous situations-hard terrain, freed temperatures, with little or no sources of nutrition. Players are not allowed to leave until their family members who see them long way decide they have had enough.

Each of the participants located in the desert has two family members or friends who see their each movement back in “headquarters,” he said.

Norman said he and two of his cousins competed on the show that was filmed in July, August and into September.

“I can’t tell you where the desert was. I just know it was the Canadian wilderness, ”Norman said. “The other two family members were at a place called headquarters or HC, and I couldn’t tell you where it was. I don’t even know. “

Norman competed on the show with two cousins, Jacoben Thomas, 22, and Laterrance Baker, both of McCOMB.

“Jacoben has been on a similar show before, which is why they sent him information about this show. He called him and asked if I would compete with him. We are very competitive as it is, so I said yes, ”Norman said.

Thomas was the family member who was sent into the desert, and Norman and Baker were at the headquarters and decided Thomas’ fate – if he was pulled out.

The last group of family or friends standing with a member still in the desert at the end of the show won $ 250,000.

Norman is contractually forbidden to talk about how far he and his cousins went on the show.

“Extracted features 12 untrent competitors trying to survive extremely violent conditions, dangerous terrain and the threat of terrifying predators in the unforgivable Canadian wilderness. Meanwhile, some miles away, their family members are locked down in a secluded headquarters that sees them navigating their dangerous surroundings alone via a 24/7 live feed. The fate of each untrained participant in the desert lies in the hands of their family members back in the headquarters. Each amateur survival family has the power to decide if their loved one has what it takes to brave the elements and fight to be the last to stand or whether the family will push the ominous ‘extract’ button and remove their loved one and the whole Whole family from the competition, ”according to a FOX press message about the show.

“It was a fantastic competition – very intense, tough. It will be good for TV, ”Norman said. “Everything is real – real feelings, real communication, not acting,” he said. “Competition with the show brings out the love of families. It shows where connected these families are. “
