2 storms to bring some of the highest snow -totals in the season to larger cities

Two big winter storms carry down on the US this week and is expected to bring some of the highest snow -totals in the season for cities, including Chicago and Washington, DC

Winter Storm -watches and warnings are in effect for both storms from Colorado to Delaware, affecting cities, including Chicago; Louisville, Kentucky; Baltimore; and Richmond, Virginia.

The first storm hits Tuesday morning to Wednesday morning.

By KL. 7 A Tuesday is expected heavy rain from Dallas to Nashville, Tennessee, while snow falls from Louisville to Richmond.

The snow arrives at DC at noon on Tuesday and can last for over 12 hours.

Four to 6 inches of snow are possible for the DC and Baltimore region, while 1 to 3 inches are possible in Philadelphia.

Meanwhile, the heavy rain in the south can cause flooding of flash.

A flooding watch is in effect for parts of Kentucky, Virginia, Tennessee and Georgia. Up to half a foot of rain is possible in some places.

At the time the first storm leaves the east coast, the second storm has already started in the midwest and plains.

In the afternoon, the heavy snow spreads from Chicago to Detroit. Six inches of snow are possible in the windy town.

In the east is a mixture of snow, gossip and freezing rain in Philadelphia, New York City and Boston on Wednesday night. The storm changes to rain overnight.
