An inner look at Owensboro Racing & Gaming ahead of opening day

Owensboro, Ky. (WFIE) -Cycling on a 20 goal big place on the corner of the US Highway 60 and Wrights Landing Road in Daviess County, is Churchill Downs’ latest, advanced, historic racing machine and entertainment facility.

Inside Owensboro Racing & Gaming are 600 historic racing machines, a retail sports book, Simulcast Waging and more foods and beverages.

So whether you are a sports fanatic, one who enjoys pushing their luck, or you just enjoy a nice cocktail, officials say this is a place that you can be proud to visit.

“It’s just a beautiful property. It’s $ 100 million, it’s brand new, everything is advanced, so I think everyone comes in and enjoys being here. I think people will be surprised by the Owensboro/Daviess County area and the surrounding areas that we have something so nice in the area, ”says General Manager Steve Roof.

Tag, which has been in the gaming industry for over 30 years, says he is excited about this new facility. One of the reasons is because of the staff of Owensboro Racing & Gaming, which he says has a wide range of experience in games.

“We can implement the best processes from the game story we have,” he says. “We can also implement new, fresh ideas that people who have not been at play can bring us.”

Tag says this almost 72,000 square meters of the plant is one that Churchill Downs has put a lot of work in. And came the opening day, he is excited to see people’s reactions when the first steps foot inside.

“They will feel that they are a place like Las Vegas,” he tells us. “I mean, it’s nice, fantastic and beautiful. The aesthetics are, in my opinion, beautiful, so it will not be a flooded little joint that we just threw up. I think everyone will be really impressed with the look of it. “
