Hermetic tuna sold by large American foods remembered due to botulism —Kuskhymes

Certain canned tuna products sold by the food store, including Costco, Trader Joe’s and Walmart, are revoked due to concerns about botulism, according to a message published on Monday by the US food and drug administration.

The recall involves some can tuna, indicated Tri-Union Seafoods, a subsidiary of Thai Union, a global supplier of seafood based in Thailand.

“The ‘slightly open’ feature can lid on limited products that have come across a manufacturing error that can go on compromise poisoning, ‘Tri-Union Seafoods said in remind Sent Monday by the FDA. Those who have remembered Tuna should return it to the retailer for a refund, throw it away, or contact the Ti-Union directly for a picking kit and coupon for a replacement product. • Genoa 7-ounce on Costco in Florida and Georgia.
• Genoa 5-ounce at Harris Teeter, Publix, HEB, Kroger, Safeway, Walmart and independent retailers in Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, New Jersey, Tennessee and Texas.
• Van Camp’s label at Walmart and independent retailers in Florida, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

The recalled tuna sold in Walmart stores in Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Washington, according to to the retailer.

Remembered products may include specific CAN codes and best-if-used-of-dates at the bottom of cans and UPC numbers listed in the message here.

Botulism is a rare but severe disease caused by a toxin that attacks the body’s nerves and causes respiratory distress, muscle paralysis and even death, according to to The US Center for Disease Control and Prevention. Any kind of botulism is a medical emergency, the agency said.

Incorrect homemade, preserved or fermented foods can produce the botulinum toxin. Infected people can become seriously ill or even die if they do not get proper medical treatment quickly, the CDC said.
