Brave New World ‘pulling mixed first reactions

Marvel’s “Captain America: Brave New World” has been revealed to members of the film press, and the first reactions to the cartoon -tent pole come in lukewarm.

Washington Post Entertainment Reporter Herb Scribner praised “Brave New World” on X and calls it an “absolute explosion. All-in on the story. It checked just as many boxes for me. Felt like an MCU movie where other projects actually matter again. Lots of cohesion. “

Others like movie critic Cris Parker wrote The movie “didn’t quite hit the emotional or narrative heights I was hoping for. Loved Mackie as Cap and I appreciated the more serious tone, but it felt a little empty. ”

Film critic Emmanuel Noisette gave a similar review As Parker was writing on X, ‘(‘ Brave New World ‘) grounded, entertaining and to that point. Solid action and mild surprises. Red Hulk (was big). Felt that it was dragging a lot of political blows. Hard to see if the marketing showed too much or if the film had nothing else to offer. It was average. ”

Entertainment writer Chris Gallardo Agreed With Scribner, writing, “(‘Brave New World’) shows that Anthony Mackie has rightly served the role of Captain America. He puts it all in as Sam Wilson and his chemistry with Danny Ramirez are fantastic! Harrison Ford as President Ross/ Red Hulk is charming and the action really rocks when it happens.

“Captain America: Brave New World” marks Anthony Mackies the first time starring as a Marvel movie. He joined MCU as Sam Wilson/Falcon more than a decade ago in 2014’s “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” opposite Chris Evans as title character. Evans’ Steve Roger officially transferred Captain America Shield to Sam in late 2019’s “Avenger: Endgame,” who set up Mackie as one of McU’s new big headliners. 2021 Disney+ Limited series “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” found Sam wrestling with what being Captain America means and if she picks up the shield or not. He chose the latter and thus gave way to “Captain America: Brave New World.”

In the new film, Sam will have to put its differences into the US President Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross (Harrison Ford, taking over for deceased William Hurt) to investigate a conspiracy theory tied to a murder attempt and the global battle for Adamantium possession. The film’s supportive role crew includes Danny Ramirez as the new Falcon, Giancarlo Esposito as the villain Sidewinder and Shira Haas as US government agent Sabra.

“Captain America: Brave New World” opens in theaters 14 February from Disney and Marvel Studios.

“See #CaptainAricabravenewworld on the largest screen. It does what it should and is entertaining blockbuster action. Anthony Mackie kicks ass like Captain America. Loved it. A good entry into MCU. Props to Laura Karpman on a mighty score. ” – – – Jazz Tangcay (@jazzt)

“Anthony Mackie and Danny Ramirez are my new favorite duo. And yes, more of Harrison Ford in MCU. Red Hulk to Halloween? I have to start training. ” – – – Marc Malkin (@marcmalkin)

“#CaptainAmericabravenewworld is clumsy, anti -climactic and about as exciting as a driving. The manuscript gives the characters a little to do, the action feels like it’s just to control a box and Red Hulk? Don’t bother to be hyped. Like the 35th movie in MCU, it plays things too safe. ” – – – John Flickinger (@Theflickpick)

“#CaptainArericabravenewworld are a lot of things: some good ones, some okay. It is exciting, offers a valuable message in a divisive time, is a return to the form of Mainline MCU after a series of disappointments, and is one of the first to move on the MCU story after endgame. ” – – – Ben Kendrick (@benendrick)

“#CaptainAmericabravenewworld was pretty good! I was worried that the movie would feel franked together, but it was pretty trouble -free. I can’t wait to see Anthony Mackie put the new Avengers together. This is a great follow -up to ‘Falcon & Winter Soldier’ and ‘The Incredible Hulk.’ ” – – Joseph Deckelmeier (@Joedeckelmeier)

“This was okay. Super defective and felt that this movie was about everyone else except Sam as he enters Cap Moniker. Doesn’t use his strengths at all, which left me super underrated. ” – – – Brittany Patrice (@BB18180)

“Nothing brave about #Captainamerica/ #captainAmericabravenewworld. A flat political thriller with scattershot emotional efforts, recycled plotpoint and a disconnection path forward. Another forgetful villain. ” – – – Jeff Nelson (@sirjeffnelson)

“#CaptainAmericabravenewworld is great when it allows Sam Wilson to shine with Joaquin Torres as they navigate the complexity of their heroism and America. But it is mixed with what is clear to be created for the future of MCU. There are some exciting moments … ”- Tamara Fuentes (@tamara_fuentes)

“‘Captain America: Brave New World’ was def better than I thought it would be. I love the quarrel between Danny Ramirez & Anthony Mackie. Harrison Fords Red Hulk CGI is great. It definitely has its problems but I loved fan service -lifting. Tessa Smith (@Mamasgeeky)

“#CaptainAmericabravenewworld is the most MEH MCU movie to date. Both feel too small in scope and try to do too much world building. The soul of the film feels lost in all care. ” – – – Lee Travis (@leetravis_)
