Kansas City, Mo. -A Winter Storm warning has been released to a wide cut of Kansas City area.

As meteorologists continue to monitor snowfall, many school districts and organizations are canceled until Wednesday, February 12.

Update 8:40 am | Vehicles need to be removed from Edgerton City Streets.
Edgerton Public Works declared a snow event on February 12 after the city received more than 2 inches of snow overnight.

All vehicles must be removed from the city streets within 2 hours under City Code.

If your vehicle is not removed, the sheriff’s office can be called and vehicles can be drawn at the owner’s expense.

The city declares a snow event at any time more than 2 inches of snowfall. Vehicles must be moved to allow plows to navigate narrow streets and more efficiently remove snow. Find out more about snow events and how the city is preparing for winter weather here.

Plow herds work 12 hours shifts. Drivers should give plowing extra space.

Update 6:45 AM | Meteorologist Lindsey Anderson says the snow will stay around in the afternoon.

Update 06:30 | Claire Bradshaw lives in Stormtracker says roads are snowpacked in Jackson County and traveling is slow.

Update 6:10 AM | KCI is currently showing only a Southwest Airlines flight arriving from Dallas at 1 p.m. 8, has been canceled. All departures from KCI are currently as planned, but check Flykci.com if you have travel plans today.

Update 5:15 AM | KSHB 41S Claire Bradshaw says roads are completely covered on the 71 highway and three trails that cross.

Update 5:05 AM | The Ottawa Police Department says roads are snow covered with heavy snow falling.

Update, 05:00| Kansas Highway Patrol Trooper Ben says Interstate is snowpacked in western Kansas.

Update, 18.45 | A winter storm warning is now in effect in the Kansas City area when freezing drips have begun.

The freezing drizzle could affect the road conditions tonight.

Update, 17:15 | KSHB 41S Jeff Penner checked right in outside our studios near the Country Club Plaza and discovered a few flurries. He says it is possible that we will see a dust at midnight, with additional snow later to Wednesday.

Update, 17:00 | Kansas City, Missouri, officials say they have activated their 400-person snow team in front of Wednesday’s snowfall. Crews began to treat roads with salt and ice ban on Monday morning. When the snowfall is underway, the crews will change to plow operations.

KCMO City Hall will be closed to the public on Wednesday. Employees will work remote. Volkety Pickup Services has been canceled for February 12-13. More information is available about The city’s site.

Overland Park says their crews will mobilize at midnight at Dennis Garrett Public Works Facility and Blue Valley Public Works Facility.

The overall government of Kansas City, Kansas and Wyandotte County said Tuesday afternoon that UG buildings – including City Hall – will be closed Wednesday.

Schools in KCK are canceled on Wednesday.

Update, 16:40 | Olathe School District has also informed parents of no school on Wednesday, February 12. Wednesday had previously been scheduled as half a day for students. Parent-teacher conferences scheduled for Wednesday will be moved to Wednesday 19 February.

Jackson County, Missouri, offices will have a delayed start at 1 p.m. 10 Wednesday.

Update, 16:30 | Kansas City Municipal Court holds virtual hearings on Wednesday, but the walk-in dock will be re-planned and the building will be closed.

Harry S. Truman library and the museum will be closed on Wednesday.

Update, 16.20 | The University of Kansas Medical Center says it will close its Kansas City, Kansas, Campus for Wednesday. The University of Kansas Hospital works as normal.

Kansas State University plans to close his Manhattan Campus until Wednesday.

Update, 16:00 | Blue Valley and Shawnee Mission School Districts are canceled for Wednesday.
