MCPS UPDATION ABOUT THE SCHOOL OPERATIONS

MCPS WEATHER UPDATE: The school remains open Tuesday, evening activities canceled, childcare after school

MCPS has closely monitored the incoming winter storm. Forecasts predict that snow starts early in the afternoon (Tuesday), with heavier snowfall and road accumulation not expected until early tonight. Temperatures are expected to remain over freezing; Treated roads and schools are expected to remain acceptable. During the dismissal of the afternoon it is sneezing, but icy and uncertain conditions are expected before late at night. Bus transport may be delayed on some routes because we have instructed drivers to exercise caution when driving under snow conditions that can temporarily prevent visibility.

As a result:

• MCPS schools remain open to the full school day with a normal dismissal time on Tuesday, February 11th.
• Activities in school and community use for afternoon and evening are canceled, including field trips, games, team practice and programs in schools and on the school grounds.
• Childcare after school operates, but families are encouraged to pick up their children as soon as possible. Families are strongly encouraged to contact their childcare provider for specific information.
