Brest vs PSG foresings

Ever since the club was purchased by Qatar Sports Investments in 2011, Paris Saint-Germain has been devoured by their desire to win the Champions League.

More than a billion euros have been thrown on the team in search of this goal, but time and time again PSG has fallen short.

At home, the odds are stacked in their favor to a remarkable degree. No one can compete with PSG’s economic dominance of French football, so they tend to hoover up Ligue 1 titles while spending most of the campaign in second gear.

As PSG’s owners soon realized, the Champions League is much harder to win. Despite having completed as runners in 2020, PSG has been removed in the round of 16 more often than they have reached the semi -finals.

The forces that are on Parc des Princes justified that the club’s best chance of success was to gather a star -studded team of Galacticos. It culminated in a two-year magic form where Neymar, Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe formed PSG’s front line. As for individual talent, it was one of the greatest front trees in the history of the game.

But football is not an individual sport. Mbappe, Neymar and Messi produced lots of magic against inferior resistance, but their presence in the same XI hopefully left PSG unbalanced on the continental scene.

None of the trio were particularly eager to track back or press from the front, so PSG’s opponents were able to choose them with ease.

By 2022, PSG was beaten by Real Madrid in the last 16. A year later, they lost against Bayern Munich at the same time. In other words, as soon as they faced a European with European heavy weight, the French side came unstopped.

Neymar and Messi traveled in 2023 before Mbappe’s long -awaited move to Real Madrid went through last summer. The Galactico Era on Parc des Princes is now over, but it has undoubtedly risen rather than impaired PSG’s chances of winning the Champions League.

Luis Enrique’s young, rushing team has even gained admiring gaze from neutral this expression – an unusual feeling for PSG.

Despite a tough draw in the league, the Parisians secured a play-off quay with back-to-back victory over Manchester City (4-2) and Stuttgart (4-1) on match days seven and eight. Fellow Ligue 1 Page Brest Waiting for Play-Offs.
