Bracketology: Michigan expected to meet a Wolverine’s previous team

Michigan men’s basketball team has a great opportunity on Tuesday when Purdue visits. Not only is the first place in the Big Ten on the line, but a win would give Michigan’s NCAA Tournament CV another lift.

The latest projections have Michigan stuck in the field at the moment. Espns Joe Lunardi updated his bracket on Tuesday and lists Michigan as a 5 seed. The same goes for Andy Katz on ncaa.com. CBS SPORTS ‘Jerry Palm has Michigan as 4 seeds in his Monday update.

Both Lunardi and Katz have Michigan playing Yale, the current leader of the Ivy League. It’s noteworthy since Michigan started ahead, Danny Wolf spent the last two seasons at Yale. Last year, the Bulldogs Ivy League won to earn an automatic bid for the NCAA tournament, where they disturbed Auburn as a 13 seed in the first round.

All three of the aforementioned brackets include 10 Big Ten teams. Purdue, Michigan State and Wisconsin Podes in front of Michigan.

Michigan already won at Wisconsin, its best win to date. Purdue is ranked even higher in the net at No. 9, although Tuesday’s game (19:02 one, Peacock) will be in Ann Arbor.

Wolverines are 18-5 and runs on a four-game victory. They are 5-3 in Quad 1 games (the hardest ones), 5-2 in Quad 2 and 7-0 in Quad 3rd. Michigan is ranked No. 18 in the net.
