Chicago Snow Prognosis: How much to expect Wednesday

The first significant blizzard of the season will affect Chicagoland on Wednesday.

We expect travel influences on Wednesday, especially in the afternoon and evening.

Timeline:

Snow will vary in intensity throughout the event with the heaviest snow generally between 7 p.m. 11 and 17 Wednesday.

Scattered snow showers are expected on Tuesday evening through approx. at. 9 and 10 Wednesday, and then the most important snow system will spread over Chicagoland between 7 p.m. 10 and noon. Between noon and 18.00 the snow will sometimes be moderate to tongue.

Snow prices could be as high as an inch per hour in this timeframe. This is likely to strongly affect commuters, especially in the afternoon and early evening.

After sunset, the snow will begin to brighten up. Light to moderate snow will continue to fall into parts of Chicagoland through midnight.

The snow can be mixed with freezing rain or gossip at times in the evening, with the highest chances of this that occurs south of Interstate 80.

As far as totals are concerned, most areas end up in three to six inch reach.

There may be isolated seven inch totals due to the improvement of the lake.

A winter weather counseling will take effect at. 9 Wednesday until 7 p.m. 3 Thursday for the following counties: Mchenry, Lake (IL), Dekalb, Kane, Dupage, Cook, Lasalle, Kendall, Grundy, Will, Kankakee, Lake (in), Porter, Laporte, Newton and Jasper.
