He has! A large scalp in the first for Australia when Frewheeling Nissanka is sent back to an early bath. There was a thin edge showing on Ultraedge and Alex Carey got the tip under the dive low to the right.

Nissanka strikes out of his curl and he opens his account with a flashing square drive to four! Johnson takes a touch fuller and pushes on over him, flowering driving from the dough, and we could have a wicket in the first one over! Has Nissanka got a tickle on this?!

Hello and welcome to the first of two ODDs between Sri Lanka and Australia. After Aussie’s scooped the two test matches in Galle last week, it’s over to Colombo for a stag of games in colored clothes. The matches act like Tune up and run out of Australia before going to Pakistan for Champions Trophy.

It’s not a rinse and repeated set of players for Australia, Steve Smith is ready for captain after successfully helping the test series and Jake-Fraser McGurk, Cooper Connolly, Sean Abbott, Ben Dwarshuis, Spencer Johnson and Tanveer Sangha are all names have been added recently to cover for damage – in the case of Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood and Mitchell Marsh or as a result of a shock pension – Marcus Stoinis, who has announced that he has played his last ODD for his country. As this preamble is written, it is also noted that Mitchell Starc has chosen out of these two games and Champions Trophy.

“We understand and respect Mitch’s decision,” said Australian President of Voters George Bailey in a statement that landed a few hours ago.

“Mitch is deeply respected for his commitment to international cricket and the priority he puts on to act for Australia.

“His well -documented ability to play through pain and adversity as well as in place opportunities in other parts of his career to put his country first clapped. His loss is, of course, a blow to the Champions Trophy campaign, but gives another opportunity to make a mark on the tournament. “

Lots to unpack and play for the visitors let’s get into it.

Games start at. 10 local time, 15.30 AEDT and 16.30 here in the UK.
