Anthony Edwards and Mike Conley questionable, Giannis Antetokounmpo Out

Minnesota Timberwolves guards Anthony Edwards and Mike Conley are both questionable for Wednesday evening’s match against Milwaukee Bucks at Target Center in Minneapolis. Bucks Super Star Giannis Antetokounmpo has been excluded after suffering a left calf strain. Antetokounmpo also does not participate in the upcoming NBA All-Star Game.

Both Edwards (HIP) and Conley (Finger) were questionable for Monday tonight’s match against Cleveland Cavaliers, although Edwards, despite being considered a gametime decision by Wolves coach Chris Finch, playing and scoring a game-high 44 Points in a Wolves loss. Conley did not play in the game, the other straight game he has missed because of the injury.

Edwards have been on the injury report since Friday, and he missed Saturday’s match against the Portland Trail Blazers due to the right hip soreness. It didn’t seem to bother him Monday when Edwards released his third equal 40-point game and became the first player in the franchise story to have three consecutive matches of 40 or more points. Conley has missed both games after removing his finger in Thursday’s win over Houston Rockets, though he finished that game.

The wolves certainly want both back Wednesday after walking out of a hard game Monday in Cleveland. Edwards are the team’s leading goal scorer, an average of 27.5 points per year. Conley played his best basketball in February before suffering from his finger injury, average seasons of 11.3 points, 7.0 assists and 3.5 rebounds per day. Antetokounmpo has established himself as one of the best players in the NBA in the last decade, and this season is not an exception as he average 31.8 points ranking number two in the league, 12.2 rebounds and 5.9 Assists per Match. He is expected to miss a week after suffering the calf damage a few days ago and returns after all-star break.

Apart from injuries to Edwards, Conley and Antetokounmpo, Julius Randle (groin) and DitteCenzo (toe) remain out for wolves. Damian Lillard (Hamstring) and Pat Connaughton (Calf) are both listed likely on Bucks’ injury report.
