Victory Thread: Texas Eyes have tears in them after tide turn down

Alabama rolled into the Moody Center and flat out destroyed Longhorns tonight.

Outside of the usual turnover issues that kept Texas closer than they should have been, Alabama had a beautiful stars’ first half. The tide dominated the glass and the points in the paint and shot for good target 64% from three. The interior defense was especially strong. Add it all up and Alabama led 49-31 at half. Labaron Philon led the scoring by ten, with Jarin Stevenson and Aden Holloway added nine pieces.

Nate Oats must have reminded his team about Arkansa’s comeback last time as the tide continued to play speed after the break. Texas had absolutely no answer for the Alabama violation, and the victory margin was 23 in the end. Stevenson finished with 22 points on 7/8 shooting, and the tide shot 58% from three to the game.

Winning on the road in SEC should be tough, but Nate Oats’ team was not stopped tonight. Let’s hope they can keep up the weak shooting on Saturday.

Rolling water.
