Dalla’s weather: wet, cool weather brings an outbreak of winter to north -texas

North Texas is experiencing a wintry blend of wet and cool conditions this week with changing temperatures and all kinds of weather systems.

Tuesday: Rainy and cold

What we know:

Heavy rain this morning has led to some floods on roads over the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Showerers gradually end at noon, leaving cloudy sky and cool temperatures in the 40s.

Light rain can stay east of northern Texas throughout the afternoon. Another rainfall and storms are expected tonight, with showers developing around sunset. Rain chances range from 60% to 70% overnight, but most showers need to move out of sunrise Wednesday.

Dalla’s driving conditions

Wednesday: Most dry and cloudy

Wednesday will be drier, but mostly cloudy. Clouds can clear in the afternoon when the wind picks up. Heights reach about 50 degrees before falling quickly after sunset.

Thursday: Release possible

Thursday morning brings temperatures under freezing over large parts of the area. Heights will fight to climb over 40 degrees, with wind cooler diping down in teens.

Light rain could freeze on the way down and potentially produce sleet in northern parts of the metroplex. Areas further south will probably only see cold rain.

Valentine’s Day forecast

Friday morning will be cool, but temperatures will be rebounded in the 50s. A few showers could develop in the evening.

Weekend prospects

This weekend’s weather will be everywhere. Saturday starts mildly, with heights reaching the low 70s at noon, but temperatures fall sharply in the evening.

Sunday will be cooler and windy, but sunny. President’s Day looks dry with seasonable temperatures.
