What to know about parade route, parking, weather

Baton Rouge, LA. (Louisiana First) – Baton Rouge’s Mid City Gras Parade brings Mardi Gras fun and good times to the heart of the city.

The parade is scheduled for 7 p.m. 13 Sunday 23 February. The theme of this year’s parade is “squirrel on film.” There will be floats, dance groups, bands and water groups, according to Mid City Gras President Leslie Gilliland.

Parade route

The parade route starts at the corner of North Boulevard and 19th Street and ends at the end of North Boulevard and South Foster Drive.

Parking and bathrooms

Paradegoers will have plenty of access to parking in the area. There must be stains available on the side streets that run perpendicular to North Boulevard and at the beginning of the route close to the transition.

Portable toilets will be available at the beginning and end of the route, Gilliland said.

Weather

According to early weather forecasts, people can expect mostly cloudy sky and cool air.
