Prognosis: Overcast and Cool Wednesday

Phoenix – We feel Cooldown from the first cold front to squeeze Arizona today before the larger storm system moves in until the end of the week.

When cooler air settles in, the valley temperatures fall in the mid -60s today and put us a few degrees below normal for this time of year.

Several clouds are also moving today in front of the next storm system that brews off the coast of California.

There is even a small chance that we could see a few light, spotted showers in the valley on Wednesday night with a light dusting of snow in the white mountains.

The biggest effects from this storm hit Thursday and Friday when rain and snow showers fall over our state.

It will be a warmer storm so the snow level hovers between 6,500 and 7,000 feet.

Early estimates show the possibility of about two to five inches of snow in Flagstaff and along parts of the Mogollon edge and three to seven inches in spots such as Kaibab Plateau and San Francisco Peaks.

Here in the valley we see the chances of showers and thunderstorms with most of the activity happening late Thursday night and Friday.

The rain shower is likely to be hit or miss, so some valleys may not see anything, while others potentially look up to a quarter of an empty rain.

Keep an eye on updates as we get closer.
