Sixers are facing Netto for the last match before All-Star Break

Well, what a surprise. Sixers’ losing line continues. At home on Tuesday, they picked up their fourth straight losses in a 106-103 defeat against Raptors, a team stack at 13 in the east, despite the fact that all Sixers’ stars were active. It is difficult to choose from so many options, but it is another candidate for the worst loss of the season.

To complete this week’s back-to-back and wrap their last competition before the All-Star break, Sixers are on the way to the nets.

While we have to wait a little longer for an official injuries report ahead of Wednesday’s game, Eric Gordon and Kyle were out on Tuesday, while the team’s Big 3 actually got to play again. Whether we can expect to see Joel Embiid quit this back-to-back is another question.

For the nets are Cam Thomas (left hamstring -tribe), de’anthony Melton (ACL Tear), Noah Clowney (Left Ankle Discharge) and Bojan Bogdanovic (improvement of left foot injury) all out. Nic Claxton is questionable with a right ankle sprain.

The nets have slipped down the eastern conference since last time Sixers played on January 4th-then Sixers took a 123-94 victory. Brooklyn now sits in 12th place with their 19-34 record and ranks in the bottom eight of the league in both offensive and defensive assessment.

Cam Thomas had a quality start of the season and set a career high 24.7 points per year. Fight with a very respectable 59.7 real shooting percentage. But with him, which appears in just two matches since November 25, and now ours until after the All-Star break, Nets’ violation has lost some steam.

Without Thomas, Cameron Johnson continues to step up and shoot lights from three at 41.8 percent of 7.6 trials per year. Fight and average a career high 19.3 points. Especially containing Johnson in addition to the arch will be the most important thing for Sixers’ recently wobbly defense to keep an eye on. Along with buying Ben Simmons, trading with Dennis Schroder in December and sending Dorian Finney-Smith to Lakers In December, before the wing has the chance to hit free agency this summer, the nets have made quite a few changes despite having kept key pieces like Johnson and Claxton.

D’Angelo Russell is also back in Brooklyn again to run points (as a result of the Finney-Smith Agreement), where he originally picked up his only all-star nod back in 2018-19, but has struggled with the nets so far this season. With a real shooting percentage of only 53.2, Russell’s middle -class shooting has dipped, not to mention that he only shoots 31.9 percent from three. He has never been the kind of defender who is able to do much to embarrass Tyrese Maxey and his far superior speed and displacement. It could well be for Maxey, jumping back from his season-low five points against Toronto.

Even with all that in mind, the nets have picked up two solid wins over Rockets in the last two weeks and beat the heat on Friday, 102-86. And with where routinely Sixers have disappointed this season – even when the trio of Embiid, Paul George and Maxey are active – no results against what should be subordinate opponents can be taken for granted.

George has continued a hard time since he also returned from his finger injury. If he can do something to get started beyond the quiet 12.3 points and 10.3 field goals, which he was on average over the last four games, it would help make this competition much smoother.

Another interesting thing to monitor will be how Quentin Grimes continues to settle in. He has given Sixers a real boost so far with his defense, work on the boards and crucial games on offense. Whether he shoots quickly from the catch of three (though his typical effectiveness has not been there yet) or attacked the edge. Through three games, Grimes has an average of an average of 12.3 points, 5.3 rebounds and 3.7 assists in 31.7 minutes at night.

Jared Butler is also starting a promising start to his time with Sixers showing what he has to offer as a shooter and ball trader from the bench. In Tuesday’s game against Toronto, he ended with 15 points on 6-of-10-shooting and four assists in just 15 minutes of action. Hopefully, on Wednesday, Butler can be a bright spot if (when) other frustrations are likely to continue.

Sixers’ defense has ranked an unclear 23. In the league in February so far, which has been one of their biggest recent problems. If there is a chance for them to call things and end the first part of the season on a high before the All-Star break, it should be a good opportunity to do so against Nets’ weak violation.
