Thor’s Day is upon us and that means yesterday was Wordle Wednesday. Every Wednesday, I give you fine Wordler an extra challenge if you choose to accept it in the form of a walking or brain trouble. So Thursday I reveal the answer.

This was yesterday’s:

Small thief in a sheath of green,

Takes from giants, never seen.

Quiet fingers, quick and slu,

Turn to gold to dust and die.

What am I?

The answer is a leaf (the thief in the cloak of green) that falls in the fall (from giants) and lands on the ground that turns to gold before eventually crumbling into dust.

Okay, Wordle Time!

Wordle analysis

Every day I check the Wordle Bot to help analyze my guess game. You can check your Wordles with Wordle Bot Right here.

This was a very difficult Wordle! Anime gave me 2 yellow boxes and I only had 44 words left, but I just had the worst time finding a green box. Mayor rearranged things to more yellow. Scram cut my remaining words down to 2 but still no green boxes! All I could get on at this time was Umbra, but it wasn’t either. Finally, I had a green box and only one word left to choose from: Rumba for the victory. Finally!

Competitive Wordle score

I shop 2s at this time. Two days ago I got -2, yesterday I got +2. Today I get -1 to guess in five and -1 for losing to bot that took only four attempts. -2 again!

Today’s Wordle ethymology

The word Rumba comes from Spanish that originally means “Party” or “Spree.” It probably comes from the verb Rumlear (to party, to have fun) which in itself can stem from the Spanish word Rumbo (meaning “course” or “direction” but also attachment to festivity). The term was adopted in Cuba in the late 19th century to describe a style of African-Cuban music and dance influenced by African rhythms and Spanish traditions.
