The US Senate is scheduled to vote Wednesday on the nomination of Tulsi Gabbard to be the next director of National Intelligence.

The military veteran and the former Democratic Congress Woman from Hawaii were facing criticism, originally Bipartisan of comments that were sympathetic to Russia and her previous support for government leaking Edward Snowden, as well as a 2017 meeting with the present Syrian leader Bashar Assad .

The Democrats are still against her nomination, but Republican support has fallen in line with a pre -campaign by Trump -allies including Elon Musk.
