A ‘White Lotus’ Family, On Set and Out Out

Patrick Schwarzenegger tells Today.com that his mother fulfilled his promise to visit him while being filmed in Thailand.

“She came out, my brother came out, my sister came out, which was really sweet,” he says with a smile. “They came in June, then month five (of filming), the last few months.”

He says they experienced the set at Four Seasons Resort in Koh Samui, which was one of the film positions for the third season of the show.

“They are huge, enormous fans of ‘White Lotus’, so … for them it was this really kind of surreal, funny moment,” he says. “It’s different when people visit maybe one of my father’s sets or Something when it’s a new movie and they don’t know anything – but this was different because they are so huge fans of ‘White Lotus’.

While visiting, Schwarzenegger’s real family came to meet his family on screen: Jason Isaacs, Parker Posey, Sarah Catherine Hook and Sam Nivola, who together produce Ratliffs, a southern family on holiday in Thailand.

“We ate all dinner one evening,” he says. “They only came a few days, and then they went (and) moved around to Cambodia, Vietnam. But they all met and hang out at the hotel and they saw two or three days of filming. “

Schwarzenegger says he grew very close to his family on screen, including Isaacs, his father on screen.

Isaacs, known for playing Lucius Malfoy in the series “Harry Potter”, can play a “threatening character” on screen, but Schwarzenegger says he is “such a clumsy” from the camera.

“He’s such a sweet, lovely, loving guy and we got really close,” he says with a smile. “For the first few months his wife wasn’t there, and his children were not there and I had no one there, so we hung a lot.”

He adds that he also bonded a lot with his siblings on screen and compares the set with a “summer camp” where “you are stuck with the people you are stuck with.”

“I was probably with my siblings, Sarah Catherine Hook and Sam Nivola, every single day for six and a half months,” he says. “And we would have breakfast, lunch and dinner almost every day together. We made weekend excursions together, we made movie nights, we did self -tapes. We did everything. ”

“I’m so lucky and thank God they were all cool individuals and funny people,” he adds.

Schwarzenegger says four weeks after shooting, the show’s creator Mike White came up to him and asked if he could have dinner that night.

“And I was like,” oh, shoot, let me see, I have dinner plans with my family, “he says. “And he was like,” Dude, it’s been like a month. You don’t have to eat dinner with your family every single night. ” ‘

While White told him they took it too seriously and didn’t have to hang out all the time, Schwarzenegger says it was because they actually wanted to.

Schwarzenegger says he always tries “to have something memorable from the experience and from sets.” He chose to take a hat and the back of his movie chair, both of which had “White Lotus” written on them. Today they are in his office.
