Kilauea Volcano -Outbreak Update for Wednesday, February 12

USGS: “On the evening of February 11, 2025, the USGS geologists deployed to the edge of Kalaelele to observe and document the episode nine of the current December 2024 -February 2025 Halema’uma’u outbreaks at the Kīlauea summit. Near the KWCAM site controlled USGS geologists on Timelapse cameras that have caught the ongoing outbreak since December 23, 2024. Tall Fountain Heights from this latest episode of the outbreak pose a threat to the cameras, which can begin to distort and melt if erupting lava -jumping water reaches high enough to get close to them. “(USGS -Foto by J.
