As filmmakers go, British-Irish-Irish director and playwright Martin McDonagh is definitely one of the more well-traveled among his peers. He has led us to Belgium with In BrugesLos Angeles for Seven psychopathsthe American Midwest in Three advertising boards outside EBBING, MISSOURIand a fictitious Irish island with Banshees from Inisherin. To his next joint, Wild horse nineThe director adds another stamp to the passport with a trip all the way to Easter Island – and he brings quite a touring party with him. Sore BlackReporting, Mark Ruffalo, John Malkovich and Parker Posey are ready to join McDonagh Regular Sam Rockwell to the BAFTA Award winner’s latest.

First flowed like a potential Christopher walken and Oscar Isaac starrer Back in 2021. Wild horse nine – Which will mark McDonagh’s third collaboration with both Sam Rockwell and Three advertising boards and Banshees Production banner – Search light – becomes deliberately and carefully shrouded in secrecy. The log line remains unknown, as well as the project’s genre slope and additional casting (of which sources indicate more to come), and the remote shooting placement adds only the mystery’s air around the film. All we really know so far is that cameras should roll on Rapa Nui, the most remote island on the planet, next month. Then for the leading line-up we see Mark Ruffalo next month in Bong Joon Ho’s Sci-Fi Joint Mickey 17; John Malkovich’s Ayo Edebiri Co-starring A24 Horror Opus is well on the way; Sam Rockwell’s cool-as-you-like Mr. Wolf comes back in DreamWorks’ The evil guys 2 This summer; And Parker Posey will check in The white lotus on February 17th.

Even with all this in front of us we have already been Wild horse nine pills and need answers. Are Posey and Co Fire of that wild horses? Who will be the other five? Are the horses literal? Or is it a kind of Skvadron/cult/gang name? And if any of these things can we join? These questions and many, many more will haunt us until we learn more about McDonagh’s latest. At least at least colors us very fascinated …
