Military fighter jets go down in San Diego Bay Off Point Loma Coast

San Diego (KGTV) -To pilots were rescued after a fighter jet crashed into San Diego Bay in the area 1401 Shelter Island Drive on Wednesday morning, according to the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department.

An American Navy spokesman confirmed to ABC 10News that the aircraft was an E/A-18 g of Growser. The spokesman said the flight crew surely pushed out and they were taken out of the water. The American Coast Guard says they were rescued by a fishing boat after they were only in the water for a moment.

The pilots were then transferred to an American customs and border protection boat on stage before being taken to the hospital, per. Coast Guard.

An ABC 10News crew was on stage and reported another story as they saw the immediate demand for the crash a little before 10 pm. 10.30pm

Naval Air Station North Island sits directly east of where our reporting team was at the time of the crash.

The San Diego Fire-Rescue Department originally responded to stage, but they were interrupted when federal emergency responseers pulled the pilots out of the water. It included the US Navy, Coast Guard and Harbor PD.

Both pilots were taken to UC San Diego Health in Hillcrest. An ABC 10News reporter saw the pilots when they were brought into the hospital.

The extent of the pilots’ damage is unclear at this time; However, they were in stable state.
