Glee actress Naya Rivera’s last word revealed before drowning | ENTS & ARTS NEWS

Naya Rivera’s ex -boyfriend Ryan Dorsey has – for the first time – shared details from the day she died.

Talking to PeopleThe 41-year-old actor said that “the last thing she said was his (her son’s) name, and then she went under and he didn’t see her anymore”.

GLEE -The actress, 33, died after drowning in a lake in California in July 2020 – As she swam with her young son Josey.

Josey, who was four at the time, police told him his mother had increased him to the deck – after their boat had gone away.

Local police said they believe Rivera did not have enough energy to save herself after saving her son.

Dorsey says his son, now nine, told him he was worried about getting in the water – and that Rivera had said, “Don’t be silly!”.

“Something he has said over and over is that he was trying to find a raft .

“I am still to reassure him, friend, that rope would not be long enough.” “

Dorsey added, “It just cuts my world that he had to witness her last moments.”

The actress says he found that Rivera was missing only after receiving a call from his stepfather – while in a supermarket and bought food for a friend’s barbecue.

“I collapsed in a pallet of drinks,” Dorsey said. “I feared the worst.”

Dorsey said he immediately entered his car and drove 145 miles to Lake Piru, where Rivera and their son had swam.

“I drove 100-and-something all the way with my four-way dangers on, chain-smoking cigarettes-and I don’t even smoke and just cry,” he says. “I just wanted to come to Josey.

“If we would have lost both Naya and Josey, I don’t know how I would continue with my life.”

He added, “When it happened, I just found myself shaking my head, just as I can’t think she’s gone. It’s still so surreal every day.”

Dorsey says the holiday season is particularly tough for his nine -year -old son.

He said, “We made this book about memories of Josey sitting by his bed, and during the holidays he cried to look at it.

“You can only give him a hug and tell him, ‘I know life is not fair. Bad things happen and there is no reason for it and you just have to do your best to be a good person.’
