Anthony Edwards fights, Timberwolves are losing to Bucks 103-101

Coach Chris Finch chose not to call a timeout, and Edwards missed a potential winner of three on the buzzer to hood a 10-for-33 night. He had 28. Kyle Kuzma had 19 for Milwaukee, while former Apple Valley star Gary Trent Jr. Had 21 from the bench.

One of the silver pins in an otherwise ugly evening for Wolves was the performance of Rookie Terrance Shannon Jr., who had 11 points and six assists.

The wolves came out and played as if they smell the all-star break that came and was unfocused in the early minutes. They had five revenue and Naz Reid came in early bad trouble with two as Milwaukee had a 14-10 lead five minutes into the game. Edwards started with a good start with 13 points, but the wolves struggled to create offense outside him. He was 4-for-9 in the first quarter and the rest of the team was 5-for-18 when Bucks led 36-24 after a quarter. The wolves ended the quarter with six turns, while Bucks shot 58%.

The wolves needed help from the bench in the second quarter with Reid in bad trouble and Rob Dillingham and Jaylen Clark are struggling to score; They were a combined 1-for-8. Shannon delivered some offensive pop with seven points in eight minutes, while Joe Ingles delivered some organization to the offense that was missing with Mike Conley out of another game due to a staggered finger. Ingles did not score in his nine first half minutes, but he had four assistant and four rebounds and was a team high plus-13 on his way into the dressing room.

The wolves also tightened the screws defensively and kept bucks for only 15 points in the other. This allowed them to cut Milwaukee’s lead to 51-50 in half, even when Edwards struggled to shoot 1-for-7 in the quarter. The wolves had 11 second chance in half.

Edwards came cold in the second half and missed his first five shots in the third quarter. This enabled Bucks to restore a small lead against Wolves starters. Again, Shannon delivered a spark from the bench as Gobert continued to give stable minutes (16 points and 12 rebounds through three) to help Wolves overcome Edwards’ shooting problems. He was 7-for-25 up to and including three, and the wolves as a team were only 33% off the field, but they pulled 70-69 into the fourth.
