Steph Curry, Jimmy Butler classified in Warriors -tab for Mavericks

Golden State Warriors will not be unbeaten in Jimmy Butler III era. They lost 111-107 to Dallas Mavericks Wednesday also convicted of an inability to make layups, an inability to shoot triangles and the accident of meeting a red-hot Kyrie Irving.

Now let’s judge the players. As always, grades are based on my expectations of each player, with a “B” quality that represents the average performance of this player.

Note: True-shooting percentage (TS) is a scoring efficiency metration that accounts for triangles and free kicks. Entering Wednesday’s game was TS on League average 57.5%.

Jimmy Butler III

35 minutes, 21 points, 9 rebounds, 7 assists, 1 block, 3 revenue, 3 errors, 8-for-17 shooting, 5-for-6 free throw, 53.5% ts, -17

Butler is still not back to his normal conditioning, and in this game it was clear. He didn’t have as much energy as he had Saturday or Monday, and couldn’t bear the offensive load as successful.

However, he still filled in the state sheet and did some extraordinary things. But he was slowly a touch and it made each part of his game suffer a little, which explains the intermediate effectively, three revenue and worse than usual defense. However, he gets a bit of a passport considering the situation.

Bonus after the game: Led the team in rebounds.

Daymond Green

32 minutes, 13 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 steals, 2 blocks, 3 revenue, 1 error, 5-for-10 shooting, 0-for-1 triangles, 3-for-3 free throw, 57, 4% TS, -13

Had Warriors pulled off the victory, Green would undoubtedly have been the star, based solely on his defense in the last minutes. It was a really breathtaking stop stretch that contained two of the best blocks of the season.

He had a few moments of recklessness by offense, and he really seems a little shy when it comes to shooting right now, but it was a good game around for Dray.

Quinten Post

12 minutes, 5 points, 4 rebounds, 2-for-3 shooting, 1-for-2 triangles, 83.3% ts, -19

Post moved back to the starting lineup towards a Dallas team missing Anthony Davis, PJ Washington, Dereck Lively II and Dwight Powell. However, it became clear that a large lineup would not work and dubs would be run off the floor.

I thought he was playing well. It wasn’t that he fought so much that the lineup with him in court fought.

Buddy Hield

29 minutes, 3 points, 3 rebounds, 2 errors, 1-for-9 shooting, 1-for-6 triangles, 16.7% ts, -21

Klay Thompson didn’t have a good shooting night on Wednesday. But his replacement had a much, much worse shooting night.

Character: D-
Bonus after the game: Worst plus/minus on the team.

Steph Curry

37 minutes, 25 points, 5 rebounds, 8 assists, 2 stealing, 4 revenue, 3 errors, 9-for-23 shooting, 4-for-13 triangles, 3-for-4 free throws, 50.5% TS, + 4

Curry just couldn’t find his shooting rhythm in this game, which has happened a little recently. He was a big part of the Golden State shooting only 10 for 35 on triangles, while Dallas shot 15-for-36. And with approx. 37 seconds left and a chance to take the lead, Curry uncharacteristically missed a free throw.

He did some good things and it is a sign of how high a bar he has stated that he can have 25, five and eight, with some clutch shoots, and still get a bad character. But that’s actually the bar he has set.

Character: C.
Bonus after the game: Led the team in points and assists.

Gary Payton II

16 minutes, 14 points, 2 rebounds, 1 steal, 1 error, 6-for-9 shooting, 2-for-3 triangles, 77.8% ts, +3

A very strong game from GPII. He played good defense against Kyrie Irving (although it was sometimes a meaningless effort considering where locked in Irving was) and gave a pretty spark on offense. He can really be a good offensive player when he cuts and attacks.

Character: A.

Kevon Looney

15 minutes, 4 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block, 1-for-3 shooting, 2-for-2 free throw, 51.5% TS, +12

Strong minutes from Looney, which was a lovely presence in the paint against an under -dimensioned Dallas team. Looney did excellent work on the glass and protected the bucket. It wasn’t a game where it would have made sense for him to play many more minutes, but he did very well with the minutes he had.

Character: A-

Moses Moody

27 minutes, 14 points, 5 rebounds, 2 blocks, 4 errors, 5-for-13 shooting, 2-for-8 triangles, 2-for-3 free kick, 48.9% ts, +8

Moody had some matches to shoot the ball, as almost all his teammates did. But I enjoyed his performance. He started the second half instead of post and did some huge things on defense. He has earned the closure of lineup minutes recently and made the Bost of them. Must shoot better than this and avoid violations.

Character: B.

Brandin Podziemski

24 minutes, 8 points, 2 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 steals, 3 revenue, 1 error, 4-for-9 shooting, 0-for-2 triangles, 44.4% TS, +13

Good defense and good playmaking for podziemski. But also bad shooting and a few reckless passes. He is definitely a different weapon and he does more good than bad almost every night.

Character: B-
Bonus after the game: Best plus/minus on the team.

Gui Santos

12 minutes, 0 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 revenue, 1 error, +10

Seven rebounds in 12 minutes? It’s Looney Stats!

Santos remains an energy ball and I love how selfless he fits into the system. Not many young players are comfortable playing 12 minutes without hoisting a single shot. Steve Kerr should be happy to know that he can put Santos it at any time and get good defense, good energy and selfless, smart game.
