2 rounds of snow to Metro Detroit in the next 4 days, including 2-day weekend storm

Detroit -Metro Detroit will be hit by two significant snow rounds over the next four days-a Wednesday into Thursday and a two-day storm this weekend.

Wednesday-Thursday Snow

The whole of Southeast Michigan is under either a winter storm warning or a winter weather counseling from 1 p.m. 13 Wednesday to 7 p.m. 7 Thursday.

  • Winter Storm warning is for Macomb, Lapeer, St. Clair and Sanilac counties.

  • Winter Weather Advisory is for Wayne, Oakland, Washtenaw, Monroe, Livingston, Lenawee and Genesee.

  • A 4warn Weather Alert is also in place for Thursday morning due to the widespread and sometimes strong snowfall.

Snow showers start moving in Wednesday afternoon, but they don’t pick up intensity until the evening.

Heavy snow will continue overnight, before taking down before dawn, probably around 2 p.m. 04 Thursday.

The whole area could come between 2 and 8 inches of snow with higher totals closer to the thumb. Most of the Metro Detroit probably ends up in the range of 3-6 inches.

Defeating near the Ohio boundary could turn to a wintry mixture around midnight, which would leave a glaze of ice.

2-day weekend blizzard

Another round of snow is heading towards southeastern Michigan over the weekend, and although it is too early to give details, it seems to be an influential winter storm.

Although possible, this second storm will bring a similar amount of snow as the first, it will be spread over two days, making accumulation less concentrated.

Currently, it seems that snow showers are moving in overnight Friday to Saturday and continuing into Saturday afternoon.

When it comes closer to midnight Saturday to Sunday, there may be a winter mix, especially in the southern parts of the area.

Defeating will be back to snow on Sunday, and the heaviest snowfall of this storm will be Sunday morning. Most of the snow from this storm is through Sunday.

Early next week

Much colder air is moving in at the beginning of next week.

Heights will be in teens during the first half of the working week with morning pavements in the individual digits.
