Multiple Michiana -Emergency During Travel Guides due to snow -covered conditions

(WNDU) – Several counties in our viewing area are currently under travel advice due to the snow -covered conditions here in Michiana.

From 1 p.m. 19.30 EST are all nine Northern Indiana comments in our viewing area located during a travel advice. They are listed below:

YELLOW: Elkhart, Fulton, Kosciusko, Lagrange, Laporte, Marshall, Pulaski, St. Joseph, Starke

In Indiana, county travel status information is provided by each county emergency administration agency. When counties initiate official travel advisories and notify the state, they are automatically updated at Indiana Department of Homeland Security’s Website.

Counties that are YELLOW is under one Advisorywhich is the lowest level of local travel advice. This means that routine travel or activities may be limited in areas due to a dangerous situation and you must be careful or avoid these areas.

Counties that are ORANGE is under one CLOCKwhich means that conditions threaten the public’s security. Only important journeys, such as to and from work or in emergencies, are recommended. This is also when contingency plans are to be implemented by businesses, schools, government agencies and other organizations.

Counties that are RED is under one WARNINGwhich is the highest level of local travel advice. This means that travel can only be limited to emergency administration workers. Under this advice you are encouraged to:

  • Refrain from all travel
  • Observe the necessary emergency measures
  • Collaboration with public officials and disaster service forces in the execution of emergency surgery plans
  • Obey and comply with the legal directions for properly identified officers.
