Up to 5 inch South – NBC New York

Several storms have been set up to track over the East Coast in the coming week, including two in a 24-hour period. Expect a mixture of snow, gossip, ice and rain.

The next storm moves through Tuesday night, but with less accumulation than over the weekend. Snow only developed after tonight’s commuting in most of the New York City Metro area, although it was started in the late afternoon for points south and west of the city, including Philadelphia and Toms River.

A winter weather advice has been sent to Monmouth and Ocean Counties as well as for Long Island. Further south and west, a Winter Storm warning comes into force from South Jersey to Virginia, West Virginia and Kentucky. Check the latest weather warnings for your neighborhood here.

The storm is traced well south of the Tri-State area, and consequently it is here that the heaviest snow hotels are falling.

So how much snow will we end up with this time? Here is a breakdown:

New Snow forecast for Tuesday night

New York City is likely to receive between 1 and 3 inches of snow on Tuesday night. Long Island could see 2 to 4 inches where South Shore expected up to 5 inches.

For large parts of the Hudson Valley and all Connecticut, less than an inch can be expected. Don’t expect much more than a light dusting if something.

Nj snow forecast for Tuesday night

The heaviest snow in the tri-state is likely to be in Ocean County, where 3 to 5 inches of snow can be expected. The same goes for the rest of the southern jersey, with some locally higher amounts possible.

For Central Jersey, 1 to 3 inches are probably. The northernmost areas of the state will see the least snow with an inch or less expected.

Tuesday night’s storm brings all snow. The other systems we will see this week will involve a mixture of snow, rain, gossip and ice.

Tuesday’s snow extends into the early hours of Wednesday morning. Throughout this period, temperatures all over the region will be at or below freezing; Everything falls like snow and adheres to contact.

No one will have to worry about ice or rain mixed. Although the same cannot be said for the other systems this week.

The good news is that because this is largely an event overnight, it will miss out on big pendant times. The snow loved until after tonight’s commuting on Tuesday and will have pushed out of the area before the highest morning commuting Wednesday.

Anyone traveling late on Tuesday night goes up: Roads will be smooth and snowy. Reduced visibility is also possible. And the further south you live, the worse the conditions will be.

More winter -right weather on the way to New York

At Wednesday morning commuting, road conditions should be greatly improved thanks to plows and salt. Either way, stay aware of the roads because uneven smooth spots will be common, especially if you are an early commuter.

Quick on the heels of the evening/night over snow, another low ramps up Wednesday night to Thursday. Winter weather counseling is already in place for New York’s Sullivan and Ulster’s comments in the onto light snow and ice Wednesday night.

The second system that went against the tri-state this week will not be so forgiving in terms of timing and precipitation type. The timing of this will involve commuting on Wednesday night and morning commuter on Thursday, which can become a foggy mess.

Catskills and Poconos will mainly see snow and ice. For lower heights and coastal areas, including the New York City area, it will be a mixture of snow and ice that mainly turns to rain.

Sneak cumulations in the mountains make up 1-3 inches, while most other areas pick up less than an inch. And even then, these lean quantities melt in the rain that follow the snow.

Regardless of the type of rainfall, this is another system that will have largely moved on before the start of the morning commuting. Most of us can look forward to nothing more than humid roads, although some light slush or an icy glaze is possible further north in Hudson Valley.

The third system to move through the Tri-State area will affect the weekend, ramp up Saturday and continue through the day on Sunday.

Temperatures this weekend start during freezing in the city, but will quickly heat for over freezing. It will change the winter rainfall to all rain. This means less treacherous driving conditions, but your weekend plans can be affected by the less than big weather.

The duration and rainfall rates for this system will create a decent softening. And this is something we will look for potential flood problems in the coming days.
