Bucks vs. Timberwolves End result: Edwards are missing out on 23 shots in loss

Afterwards is always 20/20 but knowing what I know now, Minnesota Timberwolves were quite literally doomed from the start

In a slow first quarter that set the tone of a rather deficient game from the field and on the defensive end, the wolves came out of the gate and shoot 9-27 from the field. Take Rudy Gobert and Anthony Edwards out of the equation and it falls to 2-13.

The Milwaukee Bucks was extremely short -hidt. Already down Giannis Antetokuonmpo, Damian Lillard was excluded as a playing time decision with a hamstring injury, leaving Bucks without their two top violation. The opportunity was for Wolves to make a defensive statement and solidify the recent rebounding success against a team that would go big with Kyle Kuzma, Bobby Portis and Brook Lopez. By burying Lead, they were also incredibly short of scoring.

Leaders with 12 At the end of the first quarter, Bucks continued their work and ballooned the lead to 16 in the second half.

The offensive distance to Milwaukee early caused Wolves problems in defense. Bobby Portis was able to draw Grobert out of the paint and find his drive to generate points in the paint. When GOBERT was pulled out, the wolves struggled to contain and gave up easy violations to players they should not have.

“Cheap mistakes,” said head coach Chris Finch afterwards. “We need to make them serve it.”

Nothing was earned all games for Milwaukee. The main track on the second bench was the rate in which the three points fell after a 62 percent first quarter. It was trouble -free to get to the core of the defense and make hard middle areas and get a goose out of position.

“Some guys seemed to be a little tired out there,” Finch said. “Some of them found it, some of them never found it.”

While ending with only 13, found a deficient start Minnesota committed six revenue in the first five minutes of the game. A great tone set early.

They were able to find some violation in subsequent quarters and brought another game down to coupling time. Terrence Shannon Jr. Put out excellent minutes on the board and was a major reason along with good minutes from Joe Ingles that the tide in the game turned and gave Wolves a chance.

With the scoring that switched from a draw ballgame to one-owned in the last two minutes, two consecutive Anthony Edwards shots rimmed out and ultimately decided the game.

Another option to cement a trend of solid coupling time performance, but another down into the drain. While poor shooting was a trend that was carried by almost everyone on the team with the exception of Gberte (20 points) and Shannon (11 points), it’s a game that shouldn’t just be “flushed away”.

It is another gut control and an important opportunity to look in the mirror from the top of the set -up. At one point, the effect of these losses goes to turns.

It’s just not felt completely yet.

You can’t score 40 each game

A particularly bad Anthony Edwards game was the tip of the iceberg in a competition that saw lots of going the wrong way.

Shooting Only five free kicks after a stretch of three 40-point matches in a row that saw the opposite volume level from the charity stripe, Edwards had 28 points on a wildly inefficient 33 attempts (10-33 from the fields, 4- 17 from three), only Two shy over his career high (35). He had a career loudly with his 17 three -point attempts.

Two of the said looks came at the last minute of the game as the wolves needed them to fall the most. While missing out on a 30-foot stepback for the victory for his 33th attempt, Finch didn’t have many problems with it at the time in the game.

“Thought he got a right look at both the two (before the last possession) and Stepback three,” he said.

Of everyone on the team, Edwards probably get the most office “Pass” in the dressing room to have a off evening. With the stretch he has had, it was never to last forever. The proverbial wagon was to turn into a pumpkin.

The fair criticism goes in when it comes in the form of 33 shots, not all well available. Especially on an evening when shots did not fall everywhere, it is a chicken-in-chicken situation with not involving others, therefore not rhythm not found? I would not exclude that, and I think this is where there is also frustration in the fan base.

I have no trouble with the last shots. At that time in the game you might as well give it to your best player. At some point, the shooting prediction must be changed and his gravity must be used.

Tonight I leave it on the shelf.

Emptying the laptop

  • Joe Ingles fulfills his role as the great value Kyle Anderson On this team, and it can mean several minutes for him to move on in similar situations. Finch called him a “safe pair of hands” after the game, which made a lot of sense. He was a plus eight at night, and Milwaukee’s 16 -point lead was almost immediately wiped out after checking into the game for Rob Dillingham. He plays slowly, but he also plays the right game. There is the buzzphrase again.
  • Speaking of Rob Dillingham, not big all around. There have now been several apartments in both pregame and postgame press conferences with Chris Finch, where he has gone out to challenge Rookie. “We need Rob to be more of a point Guard … Right now he is looking for too much violation,” he said afterwards. There seems to be frustration over the rhythm he is playing on right now, and it is reflective of his overall state lines. Run by Møllen Ebbs and streams of confidence in a 19-year-old rookie, but it’s pretty obvious right now, which is why he doesn’t get a higher minute load.
  • This felt like one of the first net neutral rudy gberert -game ever. Gberte typically has three types of games – terrible, good and dominant. Wednesday was just eh. He had 20 points for the first time since November, but fought more on the defensive end. He had a crucial mistake down the stretch of a tough closeout for Brook Lopez on the perimeter and exhausted a pair of Ticky-Tack errors leaving the hook. He tore the official after the game, but I think much of it was his action. The official was pretty bad on both sides.

Up next

Close your eyes. Oklahoma City Thunder goes towards Minneapolis to finish a home back to the back of the Timberwolves before the All-Star break. OKC travels after their own back to the back and beats a Miami Heat team that scored only eight points in the fourth quarter against Thunder on Wednesday.

Tipoff is at. 7:30 CST for a national TV game on TNT.
