Heaven to clean up at the weekend, expected Gusty win

Santa Clarita Valley’s sky is expected to clean up this weekend, but Gusty Wind and Cool Temperatures can still be expected, according to a spokesman with National Weather Service.

The rain on Thursday afternoon was expected to continue at night and the early morning Friday, said Ryan Lewis, a meteorologist with NWS. SCV expects everywhere from half to 1 inch of rain with larger amounts of rainfall at the foot and mountain areas, he added.

Although Gusty Vind is to be expected, Lewis assured that these winds are not significant fire weather concerns due to the colder temperatures and higher humidity. Wind is expected to be as high as 30 km / h and as low as 10 km / h.

“After tomorrow, we expect the weekend to be pretty dry,” he said. “It will be relatively cool, but the temperatures overnight seem to be pretty cool in the low 40s, even the top 30s in some areas.”

Lewis added that fog should not be a concern for the Santa Clarita valley, but the rain itself can cause significant visibility problems when driving on the road.

Ways commuters can remain in safety during the heavier rainfall is to “keep your space” from other vehicles, do not “use your high beams as it can blind drivers and also yourself as it reflects rain” and to avoid vulnerable areas that May have minor floods, Lewis said.
