In the second Trump administration, Murray has been the vocal of honoring Constitutional Authority to grant federal funds. However, President Donald Trump has claimed that the executive branch should have more power in this arena, where he claims presidents are legally able to impose congressional money. Most experts agree that there are only very narrow ways for a president to stop congressional -approved funding. Meanwhile, musk and staff in the newly created department of government efficiency have revised federal agencies to find potential cuts in funding.

“We will definitely spend the dollars that Congress has gone, but I think it’s worth looking at the programs before money goes out the door,” McMahon said when Murray pressed her. “It is much easier to stop the money as they go out the door than it is to itch
back.”

McMahon showed up for the Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions.
