Three-time great master Jordan Spieth needed a special invitation to enter the field of Genesis Invitational. But if he continues to play as he did last week, he doesn’t have to trust invitations long.

Spieth was strong from the start at the WM Phoenix Open. He claimed until the back nine on Sunday and eventually finished T4 at. 16 Under. It was a promising sign as it was only Spieth’s second tournament since returning from wrist surgeries.

Now Spieth will try to keep the momentum going as he faces a stacked field at Torrey Pines.
