Academy Bus gets $ 95 million

NJ Transit Board members approved a $ 95 million contract with Academy Bus to operate local bus service in Middlesex County Four years after the bus company was charged with the state of the state and agreed to pay a $ 20 million fine.

Before the unanimous vote on Wednesday evening, a bus rider called on the board to reject the contract with reference to the accusation of fraud with fraud and subsequently 2022 settlement with the state.

“Academy bus should never get more routes because of their horrible story,” said Andy Weiss. “NJ Transit’s board must vote no and stop privatizing bus routes.”
