Auburn, Alabama, Duke, Florida is top seeds in brackets

Auburn is the total No. 1 seed in the NCAA tournament men’s Basketball Committee’s parenting example, revealed on Saturday afternoon, when the committee chairman said that the Tigers were unanimous election.

“They are clearly our No. 1,” said Athletic Director of North Carolina and committee chair Bubba Cunningham.

Despite losing at home to Florida last weekend, Auburn remained No. 1 team in the Associated Press voting in the fifth week. The Tigers have 13 quadrant 1 wins, five more than any other team in the country, while also ranking No. 1 in five of the seven metrics considered by the selection committee.

Alabama, Auburn’s opponent in Saturday’s No. 1 vs. No. 2 -Showdown, served No. 2 total seed Saturday afternoon. Duke was No. 3, while Florida angled Tennessee for the last 1-seed.

Cunningham said there were five teams discussed for the four 1-seeds, but Florida’s victory over Auburn gave Gators the last place over the volunteers. With Texas A&M, which served No. 6 total seeds, five of the top six teams were from SEC.

“The story since the season began was how strong southeastern conference teams are, and it is reflective in this Top 16 revelation,” Cunningham said. “While each team is evaluated independently of their conference tool, there is no one escapes the fact that the league is on a course in a historical season with regard to representation in the tournament, specifically the much sought -after top 16 seeds. Having five of the top six teams that are from a conference is just as impressive as it is unusual. “

All four 1-seeds in the 2023 mock foam revealed, as 1-seed on selection on Sunday, while three of the four 1-seeds in last year’s Mock Bracket Reveal was 1-seed a month later.

Purdue and Houston joined the volunteers and Agggies as 2-seeds. Iowa State, Kentucky, Wisconsin and Arizona were the 3-frogs, while Texas Tech, Michigan, Kansas and St. John’s rounded the top 16 as the 4-see islands.

Iowa State and Kentucky have fought for consistency in recent weeks, with Cyclones losing four of six before winning their last two games and Kentucky started 4-5 in the SEC game before winning his last two games. But Cunningham pointed to injuries in the middle of these stretches – Milan Momcilovic for Iowa State, Lamont Butler and Jaxson Robinson for Kentucky – as mitigating factors.

“We think they are in the right place,” he said.

Cunningham said Michigan State and Marquette were also in the conversation about the last places in the top 16.

“With five first -year committee members, this was an important meeting, not only for today’s disclosure, but also to educate them about how choices, grafting and seizure,” he said. “Reviewing this process will be valuable experience for them when we do it for right next month.”

This is the lonely mock fittings reveal of the season. Election Sunday is March 16th.
