NWS issues wind counseling for Sunday

National Weather Service has issued a Wind Counseling for Virginia’s Eastern Shore Counties of Accomack and Northampton, which will come into force on Sunday 15 February from 7 p.m. 9 to 19.00 est.

Residents can expect strong south to southwest winds reaching 25 to 30 km / h, with wind throw, potentially climbing to 45 km / h throughout the day. Road officials warn that these conditions can lead to scattered power cuts and abandoned wooden vemels across both counties.

Local transport officials advise drivers, especially those who operate high -profile vehicles, to show further caution on the region’s roads and bridges during this weather event. Residents are also encouraged to secure outdoor furniture and other loose objects that can become dangerous in the strong wind.

The counseling comes as part of a larger weather system affecting the Delmarva Peninsula, including several counties in Maryland’s Eastern Shore region.
