Huskies are the best of the worst, beat Penn State

In a match-up of Big Ten’s two worst teams, and in what actually turned out to be a most entertaining game, the University of Washington Basketball team first came in.

Huskies stood from a 13-point deficit in the first half, survived a 3-point shot at the buzzer who missed and came out of the Penn State with a hard-earned 75-73 victory on Saturday in State College.

Still, it took plenty of unexpected role-playing games for UW (13-12 overall, 4-10 conference) to get this done, with great Osobor, which turned into a Point Guard, Mekhi Mason makes his best Steph Curry Postponement and Franck Kepnang, Good, to be the old kebang.

Best of all, Huskies in 17th place had their chances of making the 15-team Big Ten Ten Tournament much improved by taking down Nittany Lions (13-13, 3-12), which got their losing line expanded to seven.

OSOBOR, UW’s 6-FOD-8 POWER FORWARD, turned a double-double but not as one would believe-he ended with 13 rebounds and 10 assists, but only succeeded 6 points and thus prevented huskies from having their first triple double In the history of school. But that was enough to win.

Mason ended with 20 points to share Game Honors with Penn State’s Ace Baldwin by preserving a career-best 6 of 11 3-point shots, including Go-ah Points.

Then there was the 6-foot-11 Kepnang who came with a season high 14 points and 5 blocks in 27 minutes of play, in his best and longest view for more than a year, and continued to back from the early season knee surgery.

With his inspired acting, he saved Huskies, who drew 31-18 at one point from going down to what could easily have been another Big Ten Road defeat.

Kepnang delivered the first half of the first half, which included a couple of thunderous thumps, to lead his team to score during the break, and he blocked 4 shots during that time.

Eight of his points came inside the last 4:02 of half when he, with his team after 31-23, threw one in what else, an Osobor-Feed that closed Huskies’ 7-0 races to get Back in it.

Next time down on the floor, Kepnang fell in a one-handed from baseline, and UW was climbed within four, 31-27.

With 53.3 seconds left in half, the big man from Cameroon took a big step toward the basket, thumped emphatically, pulled the bad call and finished a three-point game to make it a four-point deficit of 38-34, go into the dressing room.

Aside, the game was very competitive with 17 lead changes, including 15 in the second half.

After 68-67, Mason Huskies put in front for good with a corner 3-pointer from a pass from Osobor with 3:49.

Still, it was hanging on time when these teams took it down to the cord, with Baldwin letting fly with an off-Balance 3-Pointer who missed, with Osobor who protected him when the buzzer sounded.

Huskies now returns home to meet Rutgers (12-13, 5-9) on Wednesday at Alaska Airlines and need another win to become a tournament that is justified over one of the team’s status in their way.
