The US Broadcast Network CW has appointed former NBC Sports Media Exec Michael Perman as Senior VP of Sports.

In the newly created position, Perman will supervise all strategy, programming and media rights for CW Sports, which has become an area of ​​growing focus for the network since it was taken over by Nexstar Media Group in 2022.

Perman was most recently senior VP for global media rights for the media agency’s overall sports. Prior to that, he was VP for programming at NBC Sports Media Group, where he was responsible for acquisitions, program planning and planning for NBC and NBC Sports Network, including properties such as NASCAR, National Hockey League, Indycar and Tour de France.

In its new position, Perman will supervise CW’s sports plan, which amounts to about 15 hours of sports -related entertainment programming each week and about 400 hours of sports annually. The network has the rights to sports and shows, including ACC Football and Basketball Games, PAC-12 Football Games, Inside NFL, WWE NXT and NASCAR XFINITY SERIES.

Perman will be based on CW’s New York Office and report to Brad Schwartz, president of CW Network.
