Zach Bryan performs live debut of ‘Pain, Sweet, Pain’ and ‘Towers’ at Night One in Phoenix, Arizona

Zach Bryan treated a packed Desert Diamond Arena in Phoenix to the live debut of ‘Pain, Sweet, Pain’ and ‘Towers’, with the Oklahoma singer-songwriter delivering an electrifying set during the opening night of his two-show stint at the venue in Arizona.

Fans have been dying to hear the folk-oriented country hitmaker perform ‘Pain, Sweet, Pain’ ever since he released it back in 2023 as part of his five-song The boys of faith EP.

Fortunately, the long-awaited moment arrived at last night’s show (Tuesday, December 3), with Zach Bryan showcasing his strong, rugged vocals across a stripped back accompaniment to the introduction to ‘Pain, Sweet, Pain’, before rip-roaring violin and toe-tapping beat entered the fray for the energizing verses.

Interestingly, that wasn’t the only surprise Zach Bryan had in store for his adoring crowd in Arizona, where the ‘I Remember Everything’ crooner also performed ‘Towers’ live for the first time.

One of the many highlights from Zach Bryan’s highly acclaimed 2024 studio album, The Great American Bar Scene‘Towers’ finds Zach reflecting on his relationship to faith, home and his career as he wonders what it takes to get past the pearly gates (“It’s a long road to Heaven (lang vej) / It’s a far drop to Hell / I pray we outlive this fountain (pray we outlive) / I recon time will tell”) along with a rousing chorus.

Zach Bryan returns to Glendale’s Desert Diamond Arena tonight for the second of his momentous Arizona double-header, with the ‘Something in the Orange’ chart-topper currently delivering his final run of shows on his 2024 Stop time run. Zach was clearly feeling nostalgic in the lead-up to this week’s performances as he took to Instagram to share a lengthy message to fans describing his gratitude for their continued support and the love shown to him during Thanksgiving.

Zach Bryan has dates lined up in Salt Lake City, Tulsa and Brooklyn for the rest of December, with the former US Navy officer confirming he won’t be touring in 2025 as he studies for his master’s degree in Paris, France. However, Zach will perform a series of isolated shows, such as two BST Hyde Park 2025 concerts in London, UK.
