Rob Dillingham’s updated status and injury report for Timberwolves vs Clippers

The Minnesota Timberwolves return to action when they travel to the Intuit Dome to face the LA Clippers on Wednesday night. It will mark the Wolves’ third straight game against a Los Angeles-based team, following their matchup with the Lakers on Monday and their matchup with the Clippers last week.

Minnesota will be looking for their third straight win in this one, and looks to finally get back above .500 overall. Their challenge to beat the Clippers won’t be easy as LA has played some of the best basketball in the league lately. Chris Finch recently given high praise to a couple of the Clippers’ best players as well.

The good news is that the Timberwolves know they can beat this team after handing them a loss just five days ago. There has been plenty of outside noise surrounding this Minnesota team, but the guys in the locker room have done a great job recently of blocking all that out and getting back to their winning ways.

Many had wondered if rookie Rob Dillingham would be good to go against the Clippers on Wednesday. Following the latest status report, it appears that Dillingham has been ruled out for Minnesota’s first ever game at the Intuit Dome.

Rob missed Monday’s home game against the Lakers after being listed as questionable before the game with a right ankle sprain. Now he is officially out on Wednesday. This is an unfortunate development for a talented young guard who was starting to get more minutes and prove himself before the injury.

Mike Conley’s absence in the latter part of November had given Dillingham a real opportunity to showcase his talent, and he took advantage of his chances. But after Conley came back, Rob’s minutes seemed to become less of a priority for the coaching staff. Ideally, he will heal up and be back in the rotation soon.

Jaylen Clark (two-way), Rob Dillingham (right ankle sprain), Jesse Edwards (two-way), Joe Ingles (left soleus strain) and Leonard Miller (G League assignment) are all out.

An updated injury report for the Clippers on Wednesday has not yet been provided by the team.

Tuesday against the Trail Blazers, Kobe Brown (handling back injury), Cam Christie (on assignment), Trentyn Flowers (two-way), Kawhi Leonard (right knee injury recovery), Kevin Porter Jr. (left ankle sprain) and PJ Tucker (abt with the team) was completely out.

It is fair to assume that several of these players will also be absent on Wednesday. Kawhi Leonard and especially PJ Tucker are almost certain to be relisted as out against Minnesota.
