CINCINNATI (WXIX) – Cincinnati Bengals newest player Cade York will be the starter against the Dallas Cowboys for the Monday Night Football game in Arlington, Texas at AT&T Stadium.

York is a sophomore from Louisiana State University and a fourth-round draft pick of the Cleveland Browns in 2022. He played in all 17 games as a rookie and converted 24 of 32 field goal attempts, in addition to 35 of 37 PATs.

For the 2023 season, York was placed on the Browns’ practice squad and was traded to the Washington Commanders in 2024 during training camp.

The Bengals picked him up on Dec. 4 after starting kicker Evan McPherson was placed on the injured/reserved list.

In Week 13, McPherson suffered a groin injury during the rivalry game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, which the Bengals lost 44–38 at Paycor Stadium. He will be out for at least four weeks.

On Monday afternoon, the team elevated York from the practice squad to the active roster, meaning he will be the starting kicker against the Cowboys.

Adding to the list of key players injured, Bengals offensive tackle Orlando Brown Jr. and defensive tackle Sheldon Rankin also did not play in the Monday Night Football game.

Brown originally suffered a fibula injury in October against the Browns. He injured his fibula during the Bengals game against the Philadelphia Eagles, causing him to miss the next three games.

On December 1, Brown returned to the field after taking some time off and re-injured his fibula during the Steelers game.

Brown did not participate in Thursday, Friday or Saturday practice.

Rankin will not play on Monday due to illness, one says the damage report.

On Thursday, NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reported that Bengals linebacker Logan Wilson will be out for the rest of the season due to a “surgical cleanup” on his knee.

Bengals wide receiver Charlie Jones is currently listed as questionable with a groin injury.

As for Cowboys, several players also sustained injuries, some of whom will not play on Monday.

Cowboys guard Zac Martin won’t play because of ankle and shoulder injuries, and Juanyeh Thomas, a safety for Dallas, won’t play because of a knee injury.

Three other players are listed as questionable: Tackle Tyler Guyton has an ankle/knee injury (didn’t practice this week), linebacker Nick Vigil has a foot injury (didn’t practice this week) and cornerback Trevon Diggs has a knee injury. , he had limited participation in training this week.

Kick-off for the Monday Night Football game is at 20.15
