Dwight Foster died at the age of 67

One of the best to ever wear the blue, white and red jersey, Dwight Foster, has died at the age of 67.

He served as captain of the Kitchener Rangers from 1974 to 1977 and is the club’s all-time leader in points with 382.

“Those who knew Foster off the ice described him as a ‘first class guy with a kind heart.’ His leadership, warmth and humility made him a beloved figure in the hockey world,” his obituary reads.

After his incredibly successful stint in the minors with the Blueshirts, Foster went on to play an impressive 541 games in the NHL with the Boston Bruins, Colorado Rockies, New Jersey Devils and Detroit Red Wings.

“Our condolences go out to his family and friends at this difficult time,” Rangers said in a post on X.
