Staff report

Former West Rowan athlete and retired Navy SEAL Jovon Quarles will be back on television on Wednesday in Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test.

It is the third season for the show, and the second season for Quarles. It is a series of five weeks.

Quarles is one of the instructors responsible for pushing celebrity “recruits” through grueling training similar to what Special Forces operators endure. The other instructors are Rudy Reyes, a former United States Recon Marine; Jason Fox, a former SBS operator, and Billy Billingham, a former SAS sergeant major.

The celebrity cast will include former NFL QB Cam Newton, former track star Marion Jones, actress Denise Richards and actor Stephen Baldwin, among others.

Tests will include jumping from bridges and out of helicopters and water immersion to the brink of drowning.

Season 3 is set in Wales, which features water and rugged landscapes. The season premiere is on FOX on Wednesday, January 8 at 8:00 p.m.
