Thunder jersey story no. 13

The Oklahoma City Thunder (and the Seattle Supersonics before them) have 51 jersey numbers worn by the players who have suited up for the franchise since its founding at the start of the 1967–68 season. To commemorate the players who wore these numbers, Thunder Wire covers the entire history of jersey numbers and the players who have worn them since the founding of the team.

And while these Supersonics jerseys may not remain part of franchise history should a new team be established in Seattle, as was the case with the return of the Charlotte Hornets, they are part of Thunder history today.

For this article we continue with the 15th jersey number in the series, jersey no. 13, with a total of 10 players wearing the jersey in franchise history.

The seventh of those players did it in Oklahoma City Thunder era, wing alum Paul George. After finishing his college career at Fresno State, George was taken with the 10th overall selection of the 2010 NBA draft by the Indiana Pacers.

The Palmdale, California native would play the first 7 seasons of his pro career with the Pacers, where Paul left after being dealt to the Thunder for Victor Oladipo and Domantas Sabonis in 2017. His stay with the team would span 2 seasons before he would be traded to the Los Angeles Clippers for Danilo Gallinari, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and 2019 draft assets.

During his time suiting up at OKC, Paul only wore jersey No. 13 and posted 25.0 points, 6.9 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 2.1 assists per game. match.
