All sporting events scheduled for Friday night will be moved to Thursday night. Those scheduled for Saturday 11 January will be rescheduled for Monday 13 January.

What can you expect

A winter storm watch will be in effect for most NC counties on Friday and will last until Saturday morning. The watch will extend to the state’s coast and northern half.

Many counties in northern and western South Carolina are also included in the watch as the Carolinas prepare for snow.

Areas further south of Charlotte may only get half an inch for a dusting. Places north and west could get an inch or two, while the mountains could get 2-4 inches.
